What was your brief from the client?
The client wanted a traditional in-frame hand-painted kitchen with shaker doors and end panels with symmetrical framed pilasters on each corner of the island. They required plenty of storage. For the dining room and utility, the client desired minimalistic handleless doors to give the effect of a painted feature wall.
How did you answer the brief?
We made every unit usable with either pull-outs, magic corners, deep drawers, and in the island, with a cupboard at one end with a pull-out bin, bespoke tray space next to the induction hob, also deep drawers used under the seating area to maximise every inch of storage we could. The exterior kitchen is painted in Cornforth White and the island in Stiffkey Blue by Farrow & Ball while the white 30mm worksurfaces are Arabescato quartz by Fugen.
In the other areas we used Solid Diamond Grey in a soft touch finish with a push to open mechanism to reveal the beautiful oak drinks cabinet as the client love to entertain, also making use of the rest of the storage for coats, boots and much more.
Which products did you use and why?
Which appliances did you use in the oven housing?
To the left is a tall floor-to-ceiling housing featuring a bank of cooking appliances from the N70 collection by Neff – a 45cm combination microwave above a 29cm warming drawer, next to that a 60cm pyrolytic single oven. A storage cupboard sits above and below the appliance bank.
And the pantry?
To the left of the double doors leading to the garden is a further run of floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, which incorporates oak internal shelving, sensor lighting as the doors open, two drawers to make ease of organising beneath.
Our Clients Story
How did your story start with Kenton Jones?
We started looking for a kitchen in 2016 knowing we would need a bespoke kitchen due to our home being a timber frame house with exposed beams etc. We went to numerous different companies in the beginning but found they could only do certain things, as we wanted a more modern functional kitchen, lighting, drawers over cupboards, pull-outs etc. Kenton Jones were the only company we found could do everything to the quality we wanted. We spent over a year having meetings with Kenton Jones finalising every detail to make our kitchen perfect and nothing was too much trouble.
What made you return to us after your first kitchen?
From our first kitchen we knew Kenton Jones were the company we wanted for our new kitchen, if we could have picked up our previous one and taken it to the new house we would of, but we knew this one would be even better than the last! From the quality, the craftmanship from start to finish and the impeccable service we didn’t even think to look at anyone else as Kenton Jones just did it all.
What features do you love in your new kitchen compared to your previous one?
We had thought we’d perfected our last kitchen, however the details we added to the new kitchen has taken the old by storm, the breakfast bar area which we had no room in the old kitchen for make life easier just to be seated comfortable while prepping meals, the bespoke tray drawer and pantry just makes everywhere more clean and tidy and one of our favourite features is the custom made seating area that matches the kitchen making the entire room all one.
